On a historic Monday, June 27th, the 18 gardens from the Bronx Land Trust and the 14 gardens from the Manhattan Land Trust were officially conveyed from the Trust for Public Land to their respective land trusts. This means that the land trusts officially own the gardens, and can help preserve the gardens for future generations. Furthermore, gardeners, by way of the land trust boards, have the ultimate say in how their gardens are run. This was a day a long time in the making and is cause for celebration! Check out the photos from the conveyance ceremony and other press that reported on the story.
